2007.03.19: Cyndi researches GIST
I'm looking for Maloy's and their decendants who may have a mutation that gives their family a much higher chance of having a cancer called GIST. Gastro Intestinal Stromal Tumors. We are one of about 15 families in the world with this mutation. I'm wondering how many of those families are really connected. So far we have connected two who are both decendants of Vincent Maloy in the lower Alabama area. It will be interesting to see how far up this mutation goes. 2007.02.02: Not a Maloy, but found one as soon as possible
My ladyfriend is one Jennifer Maloy, daughter of Thomas Edward Maloy, originally from Oakland or Los Angeles, California, who died in the mid-80s in Albuquerque, NM. The only other known Maloys of this lineage are one Holly Maloy, of Albuquerque NM, Charles "Chuck" Maloy of Budaghers, NM, and an adopted Maloy, a dog named Popsicle.

I am Charles "Chuck" Maloy's oldest daughter, my maiden name Teresa Renee Maloy. Thomas Maloy was my uncle who died in March of 1988 of cancer. I have a brother and sister Patrick Maloy and Camille Maloy. Jennifer and Holly would be our cousins that we have not seen or heard from since my uncle's funeral. Recently my mom passed away, and never was able to find out about our family hertiage. Need some help, heres what I know or was able to find out:
This is my mothers line on both her father and mothers side: Fathers side: Readers - can trace them back to John Reader was born about 1756 in Headcorn/Staplehurst Parish, Kent, England. He married Catherine Lepper July 14, 1782 in Staplehurst, Kent, England
My mothers father was Truman Harrison Reader: Truman Harrison Reader was born October 29, 1892 and died August 9, 1949, He married Irene Mullin September 2, 1914. Irene Mullin was born May 16, 1894 in Buffalo, New York to John R. Mullin and Mildred Maloy. She died August 31, 1961. They had 8 children.
The children:

- Morris Harison Reader (1921 - 1976)
- Living: Edward
- Living: Donald
- James Arthur Reader (1928 - 1993)
- Stanley Reader (1930 - 2006)
- Geraldine Ann Reader (1931 - 2006)
- Living: Gerald (my mothers twin brother)
John R. Mullin and Mildred A. Maloy had 4 children:
- Irene C. Mullin-Reader (1894-1961)
- Edna M. Mullin-Strohl (1897-1961)
- Ronald J. Mullin (1901-1967?)
- Leo J. Mullin (1904-1967?)
Mildred A. Maloy's parents were John R. Mullin and Bridget Coleman

2007.01.09: Malloys in MN and CA seeking Richland Co., OH ancestors/connections...
Greetings from Minnesota.......
Our Malloy Family in MN recently discovered James Maloy of Richland Co., Ohio and Walnut Grove, MN after a lengthy six month search; he had been "missing" for about 110 years. James Maloy, my ggrandfather, was born there in Richland Co. Oct 8th, 1839. He was a decorated Civil War Veteran, serving with the 2nd Wisc.Cavalry for 4 years.
After the War, he migrated thru OH, WI and into southern Minnesota (Walnut Grove area) with the Asa Way Family of Barston, Quebec and Northern Vermont, Marrying Effie Way while still in Ohio.
We're looking for any Maloy/Malloy connections; the 2nd "L" was added to our name somewhere around 1900 by Effie and Daniel Asa Malloy my Grandfather...Please Contact by E-mail: fstevemalloy@comcast.net with any related Info....Many Thanks.....
Hi, I to am looking for James Maloy. Not the same as yours though, but I thought I'd reply to you in case we have a common ancester whom the James' are named for. My James is JAMES JOSEPH MALOY. Not much is known about him. He died around 1930 in Pittsburgh Pa. He's the son of HUGH MALOY
Hello, My Father was born "Alonzo Maloy" in 1923 in Gunnison Colorado, Father was "Roy Maloy", my fathers birth certificate says fathers location "Somehwere in California" Alonzo was also known as "George Maloy" Looking for any information on decedants I can find.
